Up until about the mid-nineties virtually all vehicle keys were simple bladed, edge cut keys. They did not have a computer chip and/ or a black plastic cover on the key head. We can help with your new car key in Idaho Falls or Ammon.
A basic transponder key has a computer chip inside of the black cover of the key head. It may or may not also have remote lock/unlock buttons. If it does have remote buttons it is a "remote head transponder key". We can help cut and program auto keys when you need to get a new car key in Ammon or Idaho Falls.
FOBIK stands for Fob Integrated Key. Fob is just another word for Remote. FOBIKs have a square shape at the tip where they plug into the dash of the vehicle and turn like a key would in the ignition.. The key blade only opens the door in an emergency. Vehicles with FOBiks have no traditional keyed ignition.
A laser key is cut with a laser machine on the inside of the blade rather than the edges.
Laser cut keys are also referred to as sidewinder keys or internal keys, If you have a laser key we can help you get a new car key in Ammon or Iona.
Many modern makes of cars have "proximity" keys and to not start with a key blade inserted into an ignition. Rather they have a push button start that can start the car only when the key is within "proximity" of the car. We can help provide a proximity key when you need a new car key in Idaho Falls.
